Character Archetypes

I am reading the book Breaking Dawn by Stephine Meyer. I am just past half way in the book, so I have a good idea of the character and what he (Edward's character) is like.

Edward Cullen, I find is the hero of this book set (to Bella.) So, I think that he is a warrior, he can be innocent, he changes and grows, he's willing and adventurous, and he's reluctant.

He's a warrior, because he fights for Bella even if everyone else is telling him that it's impossible or he wont be able to save her.
Edward is innocent because (sometimes) he just acts like there's not a care in the world, like nothing that could happen would break him.
In the Twilight saga, he changes and grows but in Breaking Dawn especially he changes and grows. I say this because, at the beginning of the book he was so dead set against turning Bella into a vampire, even though that's what she wanted. In the end, he did end up turning Bella, maybe not the way that he would've wanted her to be changed, but he did it anyway. This is also how he grows in the book, he becomes more laid back after Bella is a vampire, and see's that it wasn't such a bad choice.
Edward is willing and adventurous, because he was willing to change Bella-even though he was kind of forced to since she was dying-and adventurous just because of all the places that he's been as a vampire.
Finally, Edward is reluctant, because he's not willing to admit that he's the right person for Bella. That he is perfect for her. At the end though, he realizes that all along he was perfect for her and always would be.

If I could dream at all, it would be about you and I'm not ashamed of it.-Edward Cullen
